Cockpit Comfort and Safety
Comfort is more than just convenience. On long flights, prevents a good sitting position early fatigue and loss of concentration. Comfort is an important contribution to active safety.
The cockpit of the Antares has been designed so that it can be adapted for almost any pilot perfectly. Thus, the seat shell in a diagonal of the bottom rear to the front above are moved so that all pilots, whether small or large, sitting in roughly the same eye level and always in perfect position to stick or instrument panel.
The rudder pedal adjustment is not parallel but at an angle of spread, this provides no obstruction from the panel for pilots with shorter legs.
The backrest is adjustable in flight. As an option a broader in the hip shell is available, as well as a separate headrest for particularly large pilots.
Electro-hydraulic landing gear control
The retraction of the landing gear Antares done hydraulically. The operation by the pilot via a switch on the instrument panel, so that the number of bulky handles and levers on the hull for the pilot is reduced. A special safety mechanism acts inadvertent retraction of the landing gear on the ground against effectively. In case of an electric failure a maunal release is provided for extension.
Left hand operations
The control handles flaps, airbrakes and drive control are located on the left side panel, so that the pilot can at any time leave the right hand on the control stick.
Steerable tailwheel
With a steerable tail wheel and wheels at the wing tips, taxiing is no problem. Even start-ups are carried out much easier in cross winds.
